Mrs Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson & Managing Director has been associated with the Group since its inception but tookover the helm of affairs in 2006 after the sudden demise of the company's founder Chairman, Mr Lalit Suri. Prior to this, Mrs Suri was the company's Joint Managing Director. She is also an international Executive Committee Member of WTC and the Chairperson of the Tourism Committee, FICCI (Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.)

The company changed its operating brand name to 'THE LALIT' under The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, on November 19, 2008. The company's hotels were earlier known as 'The Grand'.

The operating five star deluxe hotels include the 460-room The Lalit New Delhi located in the hear of the city; two luxurious heritage palaces - the Lalit Grand Palace Srinagar and The Lalit Laxmi Vilas Palace Udaipur; InterContinental The Lalit Mumbai, InterContinental The Lalit Goa Resort along with The Lalit Ashok Bangalore, The Lalit Temple View Khajuraho and The Lalit Resort & Spa Bekal in Kerala, set to open shortly. The other hotel projects under development are located in Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Noida, Dehrahoon, Amritsar along with two overseas projects in Dubai and Koh Samui in Thailand. The Group is also set to make its foray in the mid segment hotels by mid 2010.

The Group also has interests in automobiles, car air-conditioning systems, telecommunications, information technology, education, human resources, agri-business and more.
