The Taylor Family of St Louis, which owns and operates Enterprise Rent-A-Car, acquired the National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car businesses in 2007. Today, the Taylors' Enterprise, National and Alamo businesses include a network of more than 8,000 neighborhood-based and airport car rental locations, representing the most comprehensive service provider in the car rental industry.

National targets the daily needs of the airport business customer, while Alamo services the most popular travel destinations for the leisure airport customer. Both National and Alamo are internationally recognized brands with locations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific Rim. In addition, Enterprise continues to expand its airport operations and is now on site at more than 240 of the top airports in the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland. Enterprise also serves the local car market, specializing in car rentals to consumers who need a replacement car as the result of an accident, mechanical repair or theft, or who require a vehicle for a special occasion such as a short business or leisure trip.
