Special Research

As well as its annual economic impact research, WTTC undertakes a range of special research projects which focus on a particular sector, geography or issue. Our most recent research includes:

Business Travel – a Catalyst of Economic performance: This study, completed in May 2011, includes a survey of executives and an econometric analysis which shows the importance of Business Travel in terms of generating corporate revenues and international trade. It includes a focus on Asia, launched in October 2011.

The impact of the Tokoku Pacific earthquake and tsunami on Japanese Travel & Tourism: Following the triple natural and nuclear disaster in March 2011, WTTC commissioned Oxford Economics to produce scenarios for recovery of Japan’s Travel & Tourism. The initial findings are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
