WTTC works alongside its Members and research partners to produce special reports for individual countries and regions. The reports provide an assessment of the economic impact of Travel & Tourism; a market analysis for the country or region; and a review of current government policies as they relate to Travel & Tourism, making a series of recommendations for the sector’s future development.
Identifying the critical material issues for Travel & Tourism (March 2017): Working with sustainability consultancy SalterBaxter, WTTC conducted desk research, surveys of senior leaders in Member companies, interviews with key global experts and workshops to industry leaders. The issues that emerged as most relevant/impactful were further assessed through the lenses of being long-term, strategic, influential and cross-sector.
Tourism as a Driver of Peace (May 2016): This report shows the correlation between tourism and peace. Countries with a more open and sustainable tourism sector tend to be more peaceful.
Big Data: The Impact on Travel & Tourism (April 2014): This short report reaches some timely conclusions, including that big data cannot replace creativity; that consumer indifference to big data must be carefully negotiated; and that new skills are required to reach the maximum benefits of big data.
Serbia: Travel & Tourism Development Potential 2011-2023 (November 2013):This report provides a full simulated Tourism Satellite Account for Serbia for 2011 and projections to 2023. It also outlines WTTC's recommendations on policies that would further optimise the potential benefits of Travel & Tourism in the country.
