Esteban Torbar Currently President & CEO of Grupo Maso, a leading travel organization in Venezuela, that includes: the leading Travel Agency in Venezuela (Turismo Maso Internacional – BCD Travel Venezuela); the leading Travel Consolidator (Consolid); the fastest growing on-line travel agency (Viajanet.com.ve); Hotel Cayena (an upscale Boutique Hotel, member of The Leading Hotels of the World); the Esteban Torbar Foundation (FET, a non-profit organization that promotes development of Sustainable Tourism in Venezuela), and; Eposak.org (a non-profit organization that enables Tourists to engage with Community & Tourism Development in Sustainable Tourism destinations). Esteban began his career in the Travel Industry 20 years ago when he began working with his father´s travel agency in Venezuela. He used the agency as a springboard to launch many other travel ventures, some of which have grown to become market leaders. The Company went from 30 employees, when he took over the business in 1994, to over 500 today. He also has direct investments and business partnerships in travel distribution and hospitality ventures that combined employ over 2000 employees. Also a passionate Social Entrepreneur. He founded Eposak (www.eposak.org) in 2012, initially as a crowdfunding platform for bottom-of-the-pyramid tourism entrepreneurs in remote unique tourism destinations. The venture has evolved to connect/engage tourists/volunteers with local entrepreneurs and communities so that Tourists become actively engaged, not only in funding, but also in the entire development process. Holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello (UCAB´89) in Venezuela, and an MBA from Harvard Business School (HBS´94) in the USA. Is currently attending THNK, the Amsterdam School of Creative Leadership (2013-14).
