Award-winning journalist Arnie Weissmann has worked in virtually every aspect of travel media for the past 30 years. He created the industry's first destination information service (Weissmann Travel Reports), authored a best-selling textbook and served as publisher of critical hotel and destination guides in the U.S. and U.K. Weissmann also created the first core destination content for AOL and licensed web content to Apple, Time, Inc., CNN and Marriott International, among others. He served as senior advisor for business development to Northstar Travel Media in the late 1990s. In October 2001, he was appointed editor in chief of Travel Weekly, a primary source of news, research, analysis and opinion in the U.S. travel industry. He is also a Senior Vice President and Editorial Director for its parent company (Northstar), whose global portfolio now includes Travel Weekly China and Travel Weekly Asia. Weissmann is a regular contributor to PBS and his comments have appeared on NBC, CNN, BBC, Sky and NPR. He’s often quoted in consumer media, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today. He’s a board member of the non-profit Tourism Cares, sits on many industry advisory boards and is a popular guest lecturer at colleges and universities.
