She is the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Government of the Republic of Uganda, a post she assumed since August 2012. MP of Rakai District- Uganda. Holds BA Arts in Economics (Makerere University- Uganda, a Honorary Doctorate of Laws by the McMaster University, Canada (2013). President - Africa Travel Association (2014- 2015).
Strong advocate for the conservation of the Environment for sustainable Tourism Development. Spearheaded the revision of the sector policies and plans to guide the development and promotion of the sector. Initiated Miss Tourism Uganda to elevate the girl child in the development and promotion of Destination Uganda
She was also a Minister of Water and Environment (2006-2012), Minister of State for Water (2000-2006). President of the African Minister’s Council on Water (2004-2007), Chairperson of the Nile Council of Ministers (2007), Coordinator of the Global Rain Water Harvesting Network (2005-2012), East Africa Sectorial Council on Tourism, IDRC Advisory Board Member and a Goodwill Ambassador for Sanitation for East Africa Region. Chairperson-East African Community Sectorial Council on Tourism and Wildlife Management, Vice President of the UNWTO General Assembly (2015-2017). Member of the United National Secretary General’s Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation (UNSGAB).
