Dee Waddell leads IBM’s global team delivering innovative solutions and services for travel and transportation industries, including airlines, airports, railroads, freight logistics, hotels, cruise lines, car rental companies, travel agents, and global distribution systems. Dee has served in global leadership roles at Amtrak and United Airlines. Most recently he served as SVP, Chief Digital Officer, and CIO at Universal Weather and Aviation, a global leader in the business aviation industry. At Amtrak, Dee served as Group CIO and led the transformation to a next-generation iPhone eTicketing and reservation solution. At United Airlines, Dee served in leadership roles for united.com and MileagePlus, including responsibility for global e-commerce. He has also served in leadership roles in other major organizations including Motorola, Accenture, and the US Department of Defense. Dee holds a BA in Information Systems and Doctorate of Management from the University of Maryland University College and an MBA in Strategic Management from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is fluent in Japanese, having lived in Japan for six years. Dee currently resides in Houston, Texas, US.
